OVERVIEW

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Job Type: Full-time (40+ hours/week)

Reports To: Director of Operations

Compensation: $70k-$85k/year, plus benefits

Role Description

Blue Fox Concepts is the creative hospitality venture group behind Berlin and Animales. Our concepts each have a distinct personality, shaped by the artists, musicians, chefs, bartenders, and regulars who make them what they are. We're growing, and we're looking for a General Manager who understands the industry and thrives in a hospitality environment. This new restaurant will open later this year.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall operations and profitability of the restaurant. They ensure guests enjoy experiences, drive positive financial results, own facilities maintenance, cultivate a positive culture for team members, create SOPs for FOH and BOH, and support the development and education of the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

OWN YOUR SHIFTS

  • Take full responsibility for everything that happens before, after and during service.

  • Do everything necessary and within your power to ensure daily operations are executed flawlessly and guests’ expectations are consistently exceeded.

WORK THE FLOOR

  • Be present and engaged during prep & service as needed to ensure the level of hospitality is of the highest standard and in line with the values of Blue Fox Concepts.

  • Consistently move throughout the restaurant to understand where support is most needed and readily offer service to employees and/or guests.

LEAD BY EXAMPLE

  • Work alongside the team to showcase BFC Values in every interaction.

  • Be the example of what you expect.

GUARANTEE A THRIVING CULTURE WHERE BFC VALUES ARE EVIDENT IN THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS

  • Build a cohesive team based on shared values and develop leaders in the FOH and BOH.

  • Establish a culture of accountability in which people feel responsible to their team and goals are regularly accomplished.

  • Lead regular manager meetings, 1-1 conversations, and the annual review process

OWN GUEST RELATIONS, RECOVERY, COMMUNICATIONS, AND SALES SO THAT ALL GUEST FEEL CARED FOR AND WELCOME

DEVELOP & CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE FOH STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

  • Own the development of policies and procedures for an efficient and effective workflow in all FOH Departments.

  • Continuously spot opportunities to improve systems while collaborating with your team to implement said improvements.

  • Ensure all inquiries from email and phone calls are responded to within 24 hours.

  • Instill positive habits of service and a guest first mentality to guarantee an exceptional hospitality experience.

OWN BUILDING MAINTENANCE

DRIVE THE TEAM TO EXCEED SALES GOALS, COGS, LABOR SPEND, AND CONTROLLABLE EXPENSE GOALS

  • Collaborate with your team to set appropriate scorecard metrics that drive financial solvency.

  • Set the example when managing daily operational costs and instill good habits for purchasing, scheduling, waste mitigation, and labor management.

  • Participate in weekly financial meetings.

  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are handled in a timely manner.

  • Keep track of all equipment warranties, regular maintenance needs and preferred companies to work with.
